Modelsim fatal sdf files require altera primitive library

Please refer to Xilinx Answer on how to compile libraries for ModelSim. This problem can also be fixed by finding the library that is obsolete and right-clicking that library from the left-hand window library pane. When right-clicking the selected library, you will find that one of the options is to refresh.

Click the refresh option. This should start to refresh the library, and this error should not occur. NOTE: You will need write permission to the folder where this library resides, or the refresh will error out, stating that it could not write to there. Looks like Altera does something different than Xilinx. Maybe there is a switch that you have to enable to generate the. Have you gone through Altera's documentation on doing netlist simulations? I imagine it documents the steps required.

Also my SDF file is. It kind of seems like the Altera tools expect the primitive libraries are already pre-compiled in their default location. I'll move it to the programmable logic section.

Did you ever do this at some point previously? If you want an Altera compatible netlist, compile it with Quartus. This is obviously why you are having problems, the netlist produce by DC probably don't have any matching primitives with Altera.

You're obviously using something from Altera as the error is due to library primitives not matching. That modelsim version is both slower than the regular Mentor product and is setup to use precompiled Altera libraries if it's the free version.

Compiling the ASIC simulation library will probably exceed the limits of the Altera Modelsim and it will likely take hours to even run 1us simulations. You should be using the full version of Modelsim from Mentor.

That was exactly the problem, thank you for your help. Similar threads D. Started by Farid Shamani Jul 11, Replies: 3. Part and Inventory Search. After this message ModelSim just exits.
